Boo-cycle!

Does anyone else hate bike riding? Well, not bike riding but stationary bike riding. I love my swimming, as you know, and I love my jogging, but I have yet to feel that for the bike. It hurts my bum and it's boring boring boring. I bet if I read a book on it or a blog or something it might get me excited about it. Any ideas?

p.s. Isn't that a great image?

Oh my gosh. When I was training for my tri last year I became addicted to the 6am spin class at my gold's gym. The music was rockin', super loud and they turn the lights off. I became so addicted I would skip my running days to make this class. My butt hurt for about 3 classes then you get used to it. I went to Sports Authority and spent $20 bucks on some padded bike shorts. Totally worth it. I got to the point where I was burning over 1000 calories in a 45 minute class. You have just got to try a class. You also have to try different instructors to get a couple you like, some are great and most are so so. I am so jealous I wish I could go to a spin class right now.

Jamie,
You're probably right - I went to one spin class and it kicked my trash. I should get some bike shorts and try it again...

Spinning is why I started to love the bike. Best workout in the least amount of time, I say!

I rest my laptop on the magazine rack and watch TV Shows. It makes the time go by so much faster! You can go to www.sidereel.com , www.videostic.com , www. hulu.com to download free shows!

I just happened upon your blog and saw your quest to do a triathlon and I totally support you!! Training for a tri is a HARD thing to do! It is VERY time consuming, and if you follow the training schedule you will be in excellent condition by the time the race comes. If you are uncomfortable while riding you should invest in some tri-shorts. THey are alot different than cycling shorts but you will need them for your race. I also suggest getting outside to do your bike training, training indoors and training out is totally different and I felt a lot more peaceful training outside in the early mornings. Good luck with your training, don't let anything get in your way because there will be many reasons why you should not do something like this...but you just have to do it!

Meg,
I have been training for the tri but that weekend is rough for me. Garrett will be out of town so I need to find a great babysitter for my kiddos. I would be willing to do it with you just let me know.
